Description

Art by Brendon and Brian Fraim.  I commissioned this at the Akron Comic-Con November 7th, 2015

They do take online commissions, so if you aren't at a convention they're at, you can write them and get your own!  www.brosfraim.com/commissions.…

First let me say that Akron Comic Con is fantastic.  If you are anywhere in the area and like Comics, you should think about going.  It'll be even bigger/better next year.  There are lots of vendors and a lot of comics book professionals: independent, upcoming, current and some of the greats.  It's all mixed in a great time.  I HIGHLY recommend it.

Also: unless you are going for the media guests, just stay away from the Wizard World cons in Ohio (Columbus, Cleveland).  I don't have personal experience with Cleveland, but Columbus just isn't worth the time.  It's held the same weekend as the Cincinnati Expo, go there instead.  I'm relentless positive, and I try not to speak of things I don't like/enjoy.  But giving up on Wizard World Columbus encouraged me to go to Akron, Gem City, and both Cincy cons -- all of which are TONS more fun.  I got to commission art, talk to some comics professionals, and visit a bunch of comic book vendors and buy a lot of old comics and new statues.  Wizard doesn't deliver that to me -- so I stopped going.  It's probably great for media guests, and I just don't care about that at all.   So not really mentioning this as I hate Wizard World, Im mention it as I LOVE the Akron Comic Con, and I went there because I had been fed up with Columbus.

Anyway, I like to find new (to me) artists and commission them.  I walked across these brothers at the convention, and they had a LOT of great art, including a bunch of images of Marvel characters meeting/fighting DC Characters.  So I figured I needed to commission something liked that.  Catwoman/Black Cat is just too ... easy.  To spot on. I wanted something a bit more .. after my friend and I talked about it a bit, we figured Tigra would be better.  She's a _real_ cat woman. ;-)

Anyway, I tossed this general idea to them. My initial idea was that Tigra would like it (Selina IS good with cats!).  But I just tossed it out and told them to have fun with it.  And they came back with THIS, which is just fantastic.  For one, I've seen that EXACT look on a cat's face before. ;-)

This fits my twisted sense of humor perfectly.  It's my favorite thing I commissioned that year.  (Not sure if you'll see the other two, one is an EVIL EVIL gift and the other I just might not post.)

Anyway, if you are at a convention they are at, stop by and talk to these too and commission something from them.  Also buy their art books as they are inexpensive and fantastic.  Also remember you can write them online!

As a funny aside, they have some comics for sale, and I LOVE to buy creator comics.  So I bought the Odd Squad.  When I read them, I find them familiar, like I've read them before.  Later, I'm going through some comic boxes (I'm trying to organize about 30 years of comics), I come across some stuff I bought at Mid-Ohio-Con in 2008/9 (I now forget which).  What do I find?  All the issues of Odd Squad that I'd bought back then!  ;-) It's a fun comic, well worth reading. ;-)

They had lots of images of Zatanna (including a Zatanna/Enchantress one that was awesome).
