Yes, I commissioned this.  And it's ok, you can be jealous.  It's all right, I'm sharing. ;-)

Edit: Per Sonia's suggestion, I'm sharing the FULL resolution file.  It's HUGE.  So please download it.  Zoom it up to really appreciate it.    Sonia's link is below, and there is a topless version for 40p. ;-)

Poison Ivy by MSonia

Believe it or not this is simply the TEASER image!  This is part of a much more epic picture.  So Epic.  (I'll post it later, and if you are smart and are already following Sonia, you've already seen it).  Epic, and a bit insane.

I may sound like a broken record if you read these blurbs of mine regularly, but I do feel that it is important to let people know what my experience as a commissioner is like.  And working with Sonia is just amazing.  She utterly wonderful to work with, very positive and open to just about anything.  (And when you see the rest of the picture, you'll have a better idea of the scope of "just about anything").

Working with her is simply FUN, which is my Rule 0 of commissioning: "Always have fun".

I'm not sure I can explain just how much I love this, but I'm going to try.

As I said, this is the secondary part of this image.  But, it came about thinking of Poison Ivy -- she's part plant, and her reactions to rain would not be normal.  Like a plant, she would likely LOVE rain, and enjoy walking around in it.

I happen to REALLY like rain.  Everyone else is all gloomy when it rains, I'm skipping and smiling.  I love the feel of the air when it's raining, and the clean smell of it.  It makes me happy.  Sure I also enjoy a nice bright day, blue sky with wisps of white clouds -- but that every day is a bit boring isn't it?

I'm spastic and uncoordinated, but one of my favorite things is to dance around in a thunderstorm.  I've always enjoyed that.  The extra feel of the lightning in the air is .... well electric.  Thunder booming through just makes me giggle with glee.

I think this helps understand why I respond to this image -- I've always responded to rain like Ivy is here. And no, I don't own an umbrella, I just get wet (or I put on a windbreaker with a hood on it, so I can feel the rain patter off me).  Few things are better than sitting on a porch and listening to the rain patter off the roof.

So for this part I wanted Ivy responding to the rain -- and this is simply incredible.  Sonia took that produced this sensual depiction of Ivy, letting the rain caress her.

The textures in this are amazing.  Not to mention the background.  And take a bit to look at the light, and how it falls down, and illuminates the rain.  And then look at the puddles of clean water around Ivy.

And that's the last part of this.  Ivy is responding to the rain, and I love that at such an elemental level that I can't really express.   But, looking that the rest of the image, it FEELS like rain.  That is, I look at it, and I feel rain. I can hear it pattering down, I can smell it.  And that's art at is best.

This is one of my favorite images of Poison Ivy now.

Also, I'm posting this at like 40%, simply because it's HUGE. You can get the FULL version -and- a version where Ivy is exposing more skin to drink in more rain in Sonia's gallery for a mere 40points.  (Just click the link above to go over there, also, make sure to comment!

As always, let me know what you think.  Also, please go let Sonia know how you think.

Some of the other wonders Sonia has made for me.  But Go check out her Gallery!  Seriously, her Dr. Who images.  OMG!  And she's got muses line, based on her favorite fairly tales, the most recent one got a Daily Deviation (they all deserve that), and has links to the other ones.  I particularly like the one based on Beauty, and bought the high resolution one and printed it out at 11x17 so I could admire it and the color better.

Anyway, I commissioned these (and there are even more in my Gallery too):

And here are two that I did not commission, but give you a taste of the rest of her work (so gorgeous).  The first is the "Beauty, born of roses" and the second is one of the Dr.  Who ones.  If either sparks your fancy, you MUST MUST go look at her gallery to see the rest.
