Description

Art by :iconeicinic:  This was something MSonia commissioned from Eicinic as a gift for me.  And Eicinic said I could post it and share it with the world.

So MSonia and Eicinic made me cry happy tears today.

At work, I was hit with about a weeks worth of work, due in a day, for a large client (A HUGE increase in work for my company in the short term too).  So, me and a small team (my company isn't very large), worked 21 hours straight, right into the first 7 hours of my birthday.  A day I normally take off.   (My boss was right there with me.)

So, I'm slogging through all the changes, and in every project, especially a "have to get this done as the client goes active at 6AM!" there is a dark spot where you just have to keep doing the equivalent of Putting one foot in front of the other to get through it.  (And remind yourself to smile and have fun)

BTW, if you are in that position, act out part of this song and sing.  You'll be smiling in no time. ;-)

But, instead of my shaking myself off and reminding myself to just have fun, my email goes *ding*. And it has a gift, a collaboration between MSonia and Eicinic  It'd already passed midnight in Spain, and so it was my birthday there.

At this point, I don't need any help to remember to be happy and have fun, as I'm just sitting there and smiling.  And it wasn't done, as MSonia then sent me this, saying she commissioned it from  Eicinic

At this point, and I say this without any embarrassment, I just started to cry happy tears.  I'm REALLY TOUCHED.   This is amazing.

I've not commissioned Eicinic and I'm going to have to rectify that!

this is simply gorgeous.  Look at Zatanna's face.  It's amazing.  I also like the touches of her being fit (she's got toned arms and legs).  Ted likes these things. ;-)

I also never seem to get around to commissioning a side profile.  So I'd just started to take some attempts to correct that, and she draws me this!    Seriously, I had just commissioned this, and that was one of the things that I'd pitched to the artist as something I'd wanted.   (It too came today.)

So, I'm extra glad this came in, as it's like something I didn't know I wanted to commission.  It's an utterly perfect gift.  It's as I stared at this, realizing just how thoughtful and amazingly perfect for me this was, that I started to tear up and cry.  STUPID ONIONS.  I was already there from the first gift, and I was stoically trying to hang on (you know, I had to work to do), but this just pushed me over the edge and I enjoyed the nice sensation of just being so happy that I couldn't stop crying for a bit.

And I must say, that gift box just makes me smile. ;-)

This entire piece is just full of humor and fun (and a whole lot of sexy).  How can you NOT smile?

And now I have this first world problem as I got so much art today, I have NO IDEA what to set my desktop too.  Honestly.  What am I going to do!

I am going to treasure the art I got today -- both the gifts and the things I paid for.  This is a day that I'm going to remember for awhile.  I think the last time I was this happy, I'd just gotten in an Elizabeth Torgue commission (Tie Died Supergirl) and StacyRaven sent me a gift.  Of Zatanna.  (You might sense a theme here, and it's not only Zatanna, it's amazing artists who just spoil me silly with their great art, and by being super fun to work with.) And I sat crying all, happy, I remember the last time I'd been so happy I cried, and it was when Stacy sent me HER gift.

I can honestly say that this last year of commissioning art has been one of my best years ever.  I lost my job, and was out of work for 3 months -- but it's still the best year, because I've had so much fun, and encountered so many awesome people.  I commission so there is more art in the world, and I share it as if I don't, there really isn't more art in the world.  Art makes the world a better place.  It's a way to communicate past language, to try to slip past the barriers we put between ourselves.  (Also, I am now paid more, with nice bonus, so the job front all worked out.)

And this image is a perfect example of that.  I certainly hope it fills all of the rest of you with joy and smiles like it does me.

Thanks for the gift MSonia.  You are just so wonderful.  I'd be remiss if I didn't like to what I'd commissioned  from her for my birthday:

And a thanks to :devdeveicinic: for her wonderful art.  It's so totally perfect.  I hope that like me, you will all consider commissioning her.  Right now i'm operating on only a few hours of sleep, but I'm going to have to figure  something to commission from her soon.
