And now for something completely different!  Yeah, like the third time I commissioned a male subject (aside from secondary figures in an image), and one was a gift for someone else.   But this had to be done.

I'm probably pretty boring about this, but I love working with SoniaMatas.  She's just a joy to work with, positive, thoughtful, and just overall wonderful to work with.  AND, I love her art.  This is no exception. She's just been amazing lately, and even if you've been to her gallery, if you've not been there lately you need to go back and check out her most recent things.  It goes without saying that I recommend you commission her!

And, only the other male-only image that I've made have I laughed as much during a commission.  Honestly this was just totally super-fun during it's entire process.  So PLEASE go tell Sonia how much you enjoy it.  And me too, it was my twisted idea.

I was driving in my car, listening to my iPod (Radio Free Ted) through my car stereo.  I was trying to think of another commission, and my head was sort of spinning around.  For some reason commissioning has been HARD for me lately, though I think that I'm getting REALLy great commissions, it seems that it takes more work.  Power through!  I was thinking it was probably time I commissioned Jennifer again (the entire top row of my gallery isn't She-Hulk!  Must fix!).  Radio Free Ted played a particular song, and suddenly this came to me.  If you don't know what the song was, then I suggest you take another look.  (It's why this is so awesome.)

And once this was in my head, I couldn't get it out.  I didn't totally see all the framing (etc), but I had what I wanted down.  And it echoed in my head all day until I got home and thought "Who should do this?"  And the answer was pretty easy.  And after I sent the first email to her, it was VERY easy.  She's a Robert Downey Jr. Fangirl.

The title came out of my description, I said and Tony is well dressed, in a tux or something, he's Tony Fucking Stark.  And it stuck.

This is great from the layout of the phone (that's a previous She-Hulk commission of mine from Sonia).  Tony is just brilliant here, look at his expression!  And the backgrounds are perfect.  I love it.  I love how she took my basic idea and turned it into an actually functioning illustration. It's great.

I have to say that I'm pretty damn happy with this, and I'm impressed with myself for coming up with the idea.

Other things I've commissioned from Sonia (one is NSFW, the others if you go through to her gallery, you'll find she's selling a NSFW variant.  And if you like such things, all of them are excellent).  And yes, you can see the full image that Tony is using for Jennifer.
