Description

Art by :icontalitapersi:  This is my commission, posting w/ kind permission of talitapersi

Here it is in her profile.  Please go comment on it there!  Honestly, if you spend a few minutes adoring this like I did, its worth spending a few minutes telling the artist what you thought of it.  It really does make an artist's day.  Honest.

Korrasami! by talitapersi

On monday I was letting trying to get a bunch of work done for work, mixed with a new "hot" project that meant I had to drop everything and do it, including the current hot project, mixed with being behind on some freelancing (I've not really had a day off since I got back from vacation, it all piled in at the same time).

Anyway, the TL;DR was that I was letting myself get stressed over things I knew I could work out.  And then this hits my inbox.  I swear the world stopped.  This is exactly why I commission, art like this reminds me that none of that crap matters.  People matter.  Art matters.  I had a quite enjoyable time just looking this over, and it certainly helped recenter me to get the rest of my work done. (Still ongoing a few days later.)

This is again an image where I had a few ideas, but I told talitapersi that I wanted a nice Korrasami picture, one that showed them happy and in love.  If she showed that, I'd let her do it anyway she wanted (including choosing the clothing).

I'm REALLY taken with this.  I just love it.  They are both just so beautiful here, and so at peace.  I love how Korra is snuggling up to Asami, and their hands are intertwined.  I really love  how the light is falling on them, it's very soft and romantic, and fits the image perfectly.

Yeah, I'm an old man, but I'm going to be honest here, just looking at this, letting the stress roll away, my eyes got a bit misty.  Damn onions!

I should say that I have been solidly been in the Korrasami camp for a long time now, and I'm really glad that they got a nice nod at the end of the show.  They really are a  great couple, and compliment each other wonderfully.  I love how Asami gets all Mama Bear when Korra is in danger.  She really is the Batman of their world, and holds her own with the rest of Team Korra who all have super-powers.

This was a really nice and easy commission.  She was really easy to work with, and asked all the right questions to be sure she knew what I wanted. She loved the idea that I told her the gist of what I wanted and let her figure out the best way to portray that.  I can tell you that there is no way I'd have told her to make something this awesome, which is why I always leave "artist's choice" on the table.

So, I wholeheartedly recommend commissioning her.  Take a look at her gallery, if you like the art, it's a GREAT DEAL.

Here is her commission info (Closed at the moment, but this should be the link to it when it open back up too):

This along with kippo and the age of wonderbeasts, are some of the only media that does well at having lgbt characters without making them.....woke. When I saw these 2 series, I didn't feel like I was being represented. That always goes bad. I felt like there are great characters and their personal points of view include this and that. And that made the whole development of the gender reveal to be natural. It kept character development separate which made it even better. By the end of the story, the characters had earned their happy endings. There aren't many stories that have such perfection.
